As a section, we will cultivate the next generation of leaders through inspirational events, opportunistic outreach, and will bring our Arrowmen together through fostering an inclusive community.
Section G9 is dedicated to providing unique fellowship, training, and leadership opportunities to over 6,000 Arrowmen and eight lodges across the greater Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin region. As part of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society, we recognize those Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their everyday lives.

2027 Winter Council of Chiefs
The Winter Council of Chiefs is our next in-person event, and Section G9 is hosting it! The event theme is “Navigating our Purpose”! The business meeting will be held on January 23rd at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Hotel rooms for the weekend will also be available with access to the newly renovated water park. If you are interested, please speak to your lodge advisor today! We hope to see you there!

Join OA Section G9 for a fun and exciting time at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL, on September 20th, 2026. Those who attend can expect opportunities to explore Cantigny Park with all of its rich history, learn more about section business, and experience outstanding training.
- TIME: Business meeting from 1 pm to 3:30 pm. After the business meeting concludes, those attending may explore the park until closure.
- COST: $20 (Includes event materials, patch, parking, and admission to Cantigny)
- Must be registered and paid by Sunday, September 20, 2026
- Registration closes on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:59 pm

Parking
When you arrive at the gate, please mention “Scouting America” or “Fall Council of Chiefs” to ensure that you don’t have to pay for parking. Please park in the north lot. Here is a map of the park.
Check In
Once you park, head to the theater located in the visitors center. There will be a check-in table; this is where you will receive the event path and materials. Then you can head into the theater and find your lodge’s designated seating area. The business portion (hearing updates from lodges, upcoming events, section business like voting on the Conclave theme) runs from 1:00 PM to around 3:30 PM.

* Scout Field Uniform / Class A (plus OA sash)

* Clothing (may need rain gear or a hoodie, depending on the weather)
* Money for Trading Post (optional)
Event Materials
During the business items portion of the meeting. We will ask the council of chiefs to review and approve the WCOC minutes, our section operating budget, the conclave budget, and the next slate of conclave hosts.
What Happens After the Meeting?
After the business meeting, attendees may stay and explore the park on their own. We will also be hosting an optional session afterward with information on how to get involved in the section through conclave and standing committees.
